NOTICE OF MEETING

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT THE NEDERLAND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION WILL CONVENE AT 5:30 P.M., TUESDAY, JULY 27, 2004 AT THE NEDERLAND ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OFFICE, 1903 ATLANTA AVENUE, NEDERLAND, TEXAS, FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:

1. CALL THE MEETING TO ORDER
    
2. APPROVE THE MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
    
3. PUBLIC HEARING (5:30 PM)

   Conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the potential expenditure of funds for economic development to Guy and Alice Thibeault, doing business as The Veranda, a sole proprietorship for the development of a retail shopping complex to be located at 3027 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas.

4. RETAIL STRIP CENTER

   Discuss and take action on the expenditure of funds for economic development to Guy and Alice Thibeault, doing business as The Veranda, a sole proprietorship for the development of a retail shopping complex to be located at 3027 Nederland Avenue, Nederland, Texas.

5. PUBLIC HEARING (5:30 PM)

   Conduct a public hearing for the purpose of receiving comments regarding the potential expenditure of funds for tourism development under Section 4B (a) (2) (A) of the Development Corporation Act by the Nederland Chamber of Commerce, for a tourism event to be held on Boston Avenue.

6. TOURISM

   Discuss and take action on the expenditure of funds for tourism development under Section 4B (a) (2) (A) of the Development Corporation Act by the Nederland Chamber of Commerce, for a tourism event to be held on Boston Avenue.

7. EXECUTIVE SESSION

   The Board of Directors will announce that it will go into Executive Session, pursuant to Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, to discuss matters as specifically listed on the agenda.

   Discuss acquisition, exchange, and/or release of property.
    

   Economic Development Negotiations - Texas Government Code, Chapter 551.087

   
   Discuss the offer of an incentive to a business prospect.
    

8. RECONVENE

   Reconvene into regular session and consider action, if any, on items discussed in Executive Session.

9. COMMUNICATION

   Receive comments from President, Board of Directors and Executive Director.

10. ADJOURN
